Wawer Metropolis - Results of the EU Project
We are happy to announce that between July 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023, the Wawer Cultural Center successfully implemented a large EU project titled Wawer Metropolis. The project set 5 goals, including: improving the linguistic and intercultural competences of the Wawer Cultural Center staff, creating a database of the most interesting foreign inspirations and cooperation partners, numerous training courses for staff, new projects for Wawer residents supporting interculturalism and intergenerational cooperation, and work on an English-language website. Below we present the most interesting results of the project.

During dedicated online courses and courses in Malta, 30 people from our staff persistently improved and practiced their English to be ready for contact with foreigners visiting WCK and to be able to invite anyone who knows at least a little English to their classes.

The instructors of music or creative workshops has worked on collecting the vocabulary and preparing their lessons in English – chess, piano lessons, guitar lessons, emboidery, ceramics, painting, laughter yoga, herbal workshops – these are some of the workshops that are available now also for English-speaking participants (always check at our website and Biletyna.pl which workshops are available in English).

Each of the three groups going to Malta combined their ideas and skills to create a new, innovative project also available to English-speaking residents of Wawer.
